An Appalachian Celebration, a partnership between Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont and Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center, is an annual concert celebrating the music and the stories of the mountains.

The 2010 Appalachian Celebration will be held on July 9th in the Heritage Center’s outdoor amphitheater. The venue, located in the heart of Townsend, TN, creates a down-home atmosphere that fits perfectly with this casual evening of family fun and foot stomping music. Storyteller Elizabeth Rose will mesmerize with her vivacious stories woven with wit, humor, and expressive enthusiasm. Jill Pair and The Mountain Shadow String Band will captivate with their traditional mountain music played under the stars. Before they are through, everyone will be tapping their feet and singing along.

Everyone will want to be a part of this growing tradition and enjoy an unforgettable evening. Tickets can be purchased in advance at either GSMIT or the Heritage Center for $5.00, or can be purchased at the door. Drinks and snacks are available and all funds earned are split between the two non-profit organizations. Seating is limited to 400, so those wishing to attend should purchase tickets early.

Thank you to our generous sponsors!
