Likin' Lichens

February 17-19, 2012 CLASS IS FULL

Lichens-these mysterious organisms have fascinated people for years. Not a plant, not a fungus, but a surprisingly elegant combination of the two. Spend the weekend delving into the enchanting world of lichens as we learn their basic ecology, identification, and natural history during this field-based workshop.

Workshop lasts from Friday supper to Sunday lunch. Workshop fee includes all instruction, materials, meals and lodging.

Space is limited to 20 participants so register early.

Cost for educators: Thanks to a generous grant from North Carolina Department of Transportation this course is offered to 10 K-12 educators for a non-refundable registration fee of $50 per person. One educator per school.

Cost for non-educators: $255 per person

TEACHERS: After attending this program, when you bring your school group you will qualify to come free and your students will get $8 off the price of a three day or longer experience.
