We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and well-organized individual with experience and training in developing and leading residential environmental education programs.
Description: As a key member of the management team the Education Director will provide the leadership for assuring that GSMIT programs are of the highest quality possible. The Education Director is directly responsible for overall development, planning and management of all educational programs including, but not limited to: short term and long range planning, staff hiring, training, & supervision, program coordination, developing and maintaining partnerships, teaching, recruiting groups and promoting programs, and assistance with oversight and coordination of maintenance, food service, and office operations.
Qualifications: Masters in Environmental Education, Nature Interpretation, or closely related field; supplemented by a minimum of four (4) years previous experience and/or training that includes residential environmental education, summer youth/adult program operations, marketing/public relations; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. At least two years of management level experience is necessary. Applicant must have a keen interest in, and aptitude for, Natural History and placed-based experiential education. Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a valid Tennessee driver’s license.
Salary & Benefits: Commensurate with experience. Full-time salaried with full benefits.
