FOOD SERVICE DIRECTOR

Tremont is seeking a dynamic, experienced chef to supervise and coordinate the work for food preparation at our residential environmental education center. Our campus is located within the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and the dining hall is THE gathering place for fun and nutritious meals each day.   

RESPONSIBILITIES: Our director of Food Service supervises, provides guidance and evaluates the kitchen staff team to ensure excellence in performance. Responsible to schedule shift assignments, maintain time sheets, and payroll records.  They work with this team to plan and develop menus, prepare meals, and monitor compliance of approved standards and policies. They perform purchasing duties, maintain pantry inventory, and oversee the area budget.   

QUALIFICATIONS: An enthusiastic, innovative, team leader with excellent communication skills. At minimum, a High School diploma or GED; supplemented by 3 years previous experience or training in the food service industry. Supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience to lead a supportive kitchen staff team. 

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary is competitive and dependent on experiences and abilities. Benefits include Health, Dental, and Life Insurance and retirement options.
