Phenology is the study of the timing of seasonal changes in the environment, such as when flowers bloom or leaves change color. Monitoring the timing of these changes has helped scientists all over the world learn more about global warming and other alterations to the environment. Tremont has a phenology database that goes back more than a decade. Each month, we produce a list of “signs of the season” to watch for, and our teaching staff help students watch for those flowers, animals, or other signs. Students record their observations on a chart in the Dining Hall.
