Cades Cove – Explore the natural and cultural communities of the cove through hikes, re-enactments, games, and creative writing.

All Day Hike (or half day hike) – Plunge into the beauty of these mountain forests on this 8-mile hike (other shorter options are available) with a sack lunch. Experience the diversity of forest types, animals and habitats. This is a great opportunity to incorporate citizen science projects – up for a little dung beetle inventory or fungi mapping?

Little Greenbrier/Walker Sisters’ Homestead – Visit this historic school and farm to gain an understanding of mountain life.

All Day Trip to the High Country – spend the day traveling from Tennessee to Maine as you drive up to Clingman’s Dome. Learn about different forest communities, biological diversity and adaptations of organisms at different elevations, and park issues. This program involves a few short hikes.
