School Group Adventures
At Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont we recognize the importance of place-based education. It engages students with the world around them, giving them the opportunity to experience the things they are learning about firsthand. This year thousands of school children and their teachers will once again come to Tremont to learn from Great Smoky Mountains National Park. You could say that we operate under a "No Child Left Inside" policy. Being able to use the Smokies as a supplemental classroom provides huge benefits and examples that teachers refer to throughout the year in almost all subject areas. Not only do students learn important concepts, but they also learn how to be better learners as they use inquiry to explore and understand the world around them.
