For school groups many presentations often take place near the end of the day. Regular participation from community artisans afford teachers to tap into a valuable resource and customize their program for their groups. It is important for students and individuals alike to see and hear how the people of these mountains sustained their livelyhood. Many are portrayed in the presentations of our community artisans. Funding is available to help you bring artisans to your group. See below ...

Funding for COMMUNITY ARTISANS
(Evening Presenters Arts)
2007-2008 School Year - Application (PDF)
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Funding is now available to school groups who wish to host a visiting artist (evening presenter) at Tremont during the 2007-2008 school year. Our Community Artisan Fund is possible thanks to a generous grant from the Avent Cabin Endowment. This program is a part of our larger Arts Initiative that seeks to increase the presence of the arts in our programs.
HOW CAN MY SCHOOL TAKE PART?
1. PLAN Decide which Community Artisan you want to present during your school trip to Tremont. See application for list of Artisan presenters. You’ll notice familiar names plus a few that may be new to you.
2. APPLY A short application must be completed and submitted well in advance of your trip and includes a section asking you to justify your request. (Click on link below.)
Any school visiting Tremont during the 2007-2008 school year is welcome to apply. However, we especially encourage schools that have struggled in the past to fund evening presenters, or schools that are struggling now.
