The Youth Empowerment Summit (YES!) is the first annual conference of the Tennessee Youth Environmental Network. The focus of the YES! is to encourage and inspire Tennessee youth to join the growing environmental movement and to provide them with the tools to make their lives and communities more sustainable. This five-day program will have three main focuses: energy, waste, and food. Each day, participants will take one of these environmental issues and explore it through films, games, speakers, presentations, and actions. There will also be time for students to discover the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains.
The Tennessee Youth Environmental Network (TennYEN) aims to connect student environmental clubs across Tennessee. Arranged in county coalitions, TennYEN brings together local high school and middle school clubs through coordinated solidarity days of action and campaigns. YES! will provide participants with opportunities to act on their passion beyond the summit through further involvement with TennYEN. Click here for registration information.
